For those who are artists and designers (and for those who have a website to showcase their work). I would like to know the reasons why you have a website and what your vision is for your website.

Professional reasons. I’m a graphic designer and a lot of people want to be able to see my work just by clicking a link before they call me in to see hard copies from my portfolio, so it’s a quick, easy, and accessible online portfolio.

I know I need the following,

FTP details: hostname, username and password.

Hosting: current host, username and password

Do I need anything else- maybe info on the domain name? any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

You’d need to know who the domain name is registered with – hopefully this is not only registered in your own/your business name but is also attached to a domain registration account in your name too. If this is not the case, get the original registrant to transfer it to you so that you can administer it going forward.

Once you have the FTP details it would be a good idea to download and keep a copy of your existing site, if only for future reference.

Once you are ready to have your new site uploaded, it might be prudent to change the passwords!

I am looking for a web designer for sports-related websites, intended to be used for the homepage of a sports agency.It doesn’t necessarily have to be free, but I expect from the website to be user-friendly (easy to use navigation bar etc.) good-looking design and reliable.

Also please include an approximate cost
I would be surely looking to have some videos in and the content will look good if it is flash-player content.Most pages will actually have text and charts and a "contact us" page should be added.

i want to start up my own forum website but i am looking at a complete redesign of a typical forum layout. I have some designs on paper but looking for someone to make it into a working platform.

possible costs and any other info would be helpful

if you want to add custom forums etc then your best bet would be to use a already made CMS application or possibly even download an indipendant forum eg SMF phpBB3 using CMS’ like joomla etc would be another idea to impliment the forum idea.
Making a forum if you have the design to get a programmer to design this isnt a simple job , well depending on the complexity of the forum it may require graphics artists and several programmers all of which will charge on an hourly basis more than likely.
You could possibly create your own forum but then you would require some knowledge yourself.
Im currently creating a website myself although the basic website itself is a bit low quality.

For Harry Potter fans, I am in the middle of creating a Harry Potter fan-websit (it’ not complete yet…) and was wondering if you could tell me what else to add to it. What else would you like to see?
