my hp built in web cam does not work…any solutions?

i just bought an hp dv2000 notebook but it shuts down when i try to use my built in web cam with msn messenger..a blue screen comes up and then it just shuts down ….and dos the same thing when i’m burning a cd …..any solutions?
i alreday updated my computer and downloaded a drive for the cam from hp web page still doesnt work….

Restore the operating system …
